Woman, 84, dead after leaving her home overnight south of Montreal
The 84-year-old woman was found in -5°C weather and died after resuscitation attempts; this is the second similar elderly death in the Greater Montreal area this week.

- Responders said the man called 911 and performed resuscitation efforts as Environment Canada reported about −5C with light snow and wind chill near minus-11 Celsius.
- Both deaths have prompted coroner and police investigations, and the Longueuil family is being offered counselling while police said there is no indication this was a criminal act.
- The pattern has prompted scrutiny of RPAs, as Quebec Minister Sonia Bélanger said they must ensure secure premises for seniors, warning additional inspections may not solve the issue.
