Wilmington budget passes first reading, includes raises for first responders

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington City Council is one step closer to finalizing their budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year.  Council made its first of two votes on the new budget Tuesday. Wilmington airport OKs $78M in upgrades, adopts $94M budget

Wilmington International Airport approved $78 million for Phase 2 of its road, curb and parking garage project and adopted a $94 million FY26 budget. Capital spending includes $64M for parking and access roads, plus $7M for runway upgrades. A terminal expansion will add a fourth gate.
