- After an 0-2 count, First baseman Willson Contreras disputed a third strike call from Pirates right-hander Yohan Ramírez, arguing balls and strikes before Crew chief Jordan Baker ejected him and Manager Oliver Marmol for using vulgar language and making contact with an umpire.
- Contreras contributed offensively, going 1 for 4 with two RBIs including a two-run single in the fifth, entered Monday hitting.261/.345/.460 over 120 games, and after ejection tossed gum and a bucket of Hi-Chew onto the field.
- Officials said they will review the footage and send a report to Major League Baseball, and it's to be seen if Willson Contreras will face punishment; Victor Robles received a 10-game suspension for a bat-throwing incident.
