Police investigate alleged gang members in Times Square attack on NYPD officers

- The assault occurred amid an attempted wolfpack-style robbery, involving 11 suspects linked to Los Diablos de 42, a violent subset of the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang, with five arrested suspects and more at large.
- The suspects, ranging from 12 to 19 years old and including repeat offenders, used scooters, basketballs, glass bottles, and rocks as weapons during a deliberate and planned attack against the officers.
- NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch called the incident "organized violence" and stated all arrested face serious charges including assault and inciting a riot, while emphasizing the youngest suspect was only 12 years old.
