- Data show the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children served 6.8 million people in 2022, providing nutrition and health services for low-income pregnant and postpartum women, infants and children up to age 5.
- As of Oct. 2, state-level WIC programs were not yet impacted, but the North Carolina WIC program has funding for approximately two weeks and USDA may release limited emergency funds states might not receive.
- The U.S. House of Representatives passed a temporary measure to keep spending roughly flat through Nov. 21, while officials warn the National Flood Insurance Program, FEMA, and SNAP remain at risk.
