The makers unveiled the first glimpse on Hanuman Jayanti, highlighting a star-studded cast and a two-part global release planned for 2026 and 2027.
- On the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, director Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana teaser dropped, unveiling actor Ranbir Kapoor's first substantial look as Lord Rama. The project is co-produced by Prime Focus Studios' Namit Malhotra and DNEG, in association with Monster Mind Creations co-producer Yash.
- Based on Valmiki's ancient Sanskrit epic, the two-part adaptation features an ensemble cast including actor Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as the antagonist Ravana. The film follows exiled prince Rama and his wife as their forest idyll shatters through abduction.
- Veteran actor Arun Govil portrays King Dasharatha, while actor Ravie Dubey plays Rama's loyal brother Lakshman and actor Sunny Deol essays Lord Hanuman. Actor Lara Dutta and Rakul Preet Singh round out the cast as Kaikeyi and Surpanakha.
- Planned as a two-part global release, Part 1 arrives during Diwali with Part 2 following in 2027. Both chapters are filmed for Imax, with composers Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman scoring the mythological drama.
- This adaptation follows legendary iterations like director Ramanand Sagar's landmark television series and the animated feature Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama. These projects illustrate the epic's enduring significance in Indian cinema and global animation, setting a high bar for Tiwari's vision.
