Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Büşra Özdemir responded to claims that she would be joining the AK Party during a council meeting. Stating that she has been involved in politics under the CHP banner, Özdemir said, "Our priority is to serve this city."
Zeynel Emre, spokesperson for the New Party, commented on allegations that Büşra Özdemir, the acting mayor of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, might defect to the AKP.
