President Donald Trump threatened Saturday with a major increase in tariffs to the European Union and Mexico, two of America’s leading trading partners. In separate letters published on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump wrote that each country will face a 30% general tariff on all goods exported to the United States as of August 1. Trump threatened even higher tariffs if the EU or Mexico retaliate against his new tax.
