New Poll Shows Garrity Gaining Ground

A new poll from National Public Affairs shows Republican state Treasurer Stacy Garrity closing the gap on incumbent Democratic Governor Josh Shapiro in the Pennsylvania gubernatorial race, trailing by only 7 points (50% to 43%).  While previous polling consistently showed Shapiro with a double-digit lead, this survey indicates a tightening contest.   In June a poll conducted by Franklin and Marshall college had Shapiro up 50% to Garrity’s 28%.
