What rash of injuries mean for the Wild offense
Kirill Kaprizov scored two goals, but Minnesota lost six regulars to injuries and fell 5-2 as Winnipeg pulled away late.
On Tuesday, the Minnesota Wild fell 5-2 to the Winnipeg Jets at Canada Life Centre, dropping the team to a 4-2-1 record seven games into the season.
Injuries have sidelined six regulars including goalie Filip Gustavsson, defenseman Brock Faber, captain Jared Spurgeon, center Nico Sturm, and brothers Marcus Foligno and Nick Foligno.
Despite the mounting injuries, Kirill Kaprizov scored five goals in his past three games, prompting head coach Hynes to note he is "very difficult to stop."
Winnipeg Jets coach Scott Arniel admitted his team took 20 minutes to counter the Wild's top line, saying, "We just tried to get it past the three guys."
The Wild return home Sunday to face Columbus, hoping that additional healthy bodies will restore balance across their lineup after the injury-depleted loss.
