‘MobLand’ EP Teases Central Question of Trust in Guy Ritchie’s New Crime Series

Guy Ritchie's new limited series, 'MobLand,' featuring stars like Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren, premieres on Sunday, March 30 on Paramount+ and Monday, March 31 at 8/7c on Showtime.
Originally conceived as 'The Donovans,' an origin story for Liev Schreiber's character in 'Ray Donovan' announced in February 2024, the project was later scrapped in October 2024 and redeveloped into the standalone series 'MobLand,' which has no narrative connection to the original Showtime drama.
Created by Ronan Bennett and written by Jez Butterworth, 'MobLand' centers on two warring London crime families, the Harrigans and Stevensons, whose battle for dominance threatens to topple empires and ruin lives.
Emmett J Scanlan, who plays Brosnan's head of security, stated it was wonderful "to go toe to toe with giants such as Pierce Brosnan," while Mandeep Dhillon, who plays Seraphina Harrigan, mentioned filming the series was epic.
Tom Hardy plays Harry Da Souza, a street-smart fixer caught in the crossfire between the families, and the series explores themes of family loyalty amidst the violent conflict, with the first two episodes available for review showing promise, particularly Hardy's storyline.
