Suspect's Custodial Death Sparks Probe

TAMIL NADU, INDIA, JUL 11 – The Central Bureau of Investigation registered cases against police officers after autopsies revealed torture in two deaths, prompting arrests and judicial inquiry in Tamil Nadu.

A suspect wanted for murder and robbery has reportedly died due to alleged police torture while in custody at Tarnol police station in the federal capital. A case has been registered against five police personnel, including the station house officer (SHO).
