Netflix Is for the Dogs: The Westminster Dog Show Will Hit Streamer in 2027
Netflix will stream the 151st Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show live in 2027 after Fox Sports’ 10-year broadcast deal ended.
Netflix announced on Wednesday that it acquired the rights to the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, which will debut on the streaming platform in February 2027 for the event's 151st edition.
Following the expiration of a 10-year deal with Fox Sports, which served as the exclusive broadcaster since 2017, Netflix takes over the iconic sporting event.
Over 3,000 champion dogs representing 200 breeds will compete across the three-day event, with daytime competitions at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and evening judging at Madison Square Garden.
Dr. Donald Sturz, president of The Westminster Kennel Club, said the organization is "thrilled to begin an exciting new chapter with Netflix." Brandon Riegg, vice president of nonfiction series & sports at Netflix, echoed the sentiment.
On February 2, 2027, famed Norwegian judge Espen Engh will select the Best in Show winner, serving as the only active judge invited to award the title at two iconic shows.
