West Nile Detected In Allegheny County - ButlerRadio.com - Butler, PA

Allegheny County is the latest area in Western Pennsylvania to have a positive test of West Nile virus in mosquitoes. The Allegheny County Health Department announced seven neighborhoods will be sprayed following the positive tests. West Nile Detected In Most Of Pennsylvania

State officials say mosquitoes carrying West Nile Virus are spreading across Pennsylvania.  The Department of Environmental Protection says the virus has been detected in more than half of the counties in the Commonwealth, including Blair County.   The CDC says most people do not develop symptoms after a mosquito bite from a West Nile carrier, but severe illness is possible.  The DEP recommends Pennsylvanians wear long sleeves when mosquitoes ar…
