West Michigan orchard prepares for busiest time of the year

LOWELL, Mich. (WOOD) — Labor Day weekend may mark the unofficial end of summer, but at The Orchards at Red Barn, it marks the beginning of apple season. The Roth family, who have been farming the land since 1896, opened their U-pick section, welcoming the first visitors of the season.  The orchard has more than 10,000 trees in its U-pick section alone.
