West Indies beat Sri Lanka by 5 wickets to clinch the T20 series
Sherfane Rutherford and Jason Holder powered a five-wicket chase as West Indies won the deciding match with two balls to spare.
On Sunday, West Indies clinched the Twenty20 series against Sri Lanka with a five-wicket victory in the third international, as Sherfane Rutherford reached his half-century in the final over with two deliveries to spare.
The series remained in the balance after West Indies won the opening T20 by seven wickets and Sri Lanka claimed the second match by 37 runs, setting up a decisive third game.
Shamar Joseph spearheaded West Indies' attack with a player-of-the-match performance, taking 5-33 to restrict Sri Lanka to 169; Joseph struck twice in the sixth over and three times in the final over.
Rovman Powell and Rutherford revived the run chase with an 81-run partnership for the fifth wicket; Jason Holder then clobbered three sixes in the 19th over, leaving West Indies needing six runs for victory.
The teams transition to a two-test series beginning June 25 in Antigua, following a prior ODI series where the final two matches were rained out.
