West Ham confirm Scott Parker as head coach after sacking Nuno Espírito Santo
Parker returns on a two-and-a-half year deal after West Ham dismissed Nuno Espírito Santo following a 3-1 loss to West Bromwich Albion.
On Wednesday, West Ham United officially appointed Scott Parker as head coach, replacing Nuno Espírito Santo. The 46-year-old manager signed a two-and-a-half-year contract to lead the club's Premier League promotion bid.
Last Saturday's 3-1 home loss to West Bromwich Albion prompted the change, leaving West Ham eighth in the Championship. Santo had joined in September 2025 but could not reverse the club's relegation from the Premier League.
Parker played for the club four years and earned three promotions from the Championship as a manager. West Ham United Interim CEO Karim Virani called him the "unanimous choice of the Board" to lead the team.
Parker's first match arrives Wednesday night at Cardiff City, with first-team coaches Steve Potts, Gerard Prenderville, and Billy Lepine assisting him. Mark Noble joins as sporting director working closely with the new manager.
During initial talks with Interim CEO Virani and joint-chair Daniel Kretinsky, Parker emphasized "I share that ambition" to return the club to the Premier League. He plans to bring consistency and commitment to achieve promotion.
