Werner von Siemens Awards: emphasis on energy and record number of female scientists

Photovoltaic power plants have an increasing share in the current energy sector. Jiří Junek, a young scientist from the Technical University of Liberec, also focused on them in his dissertation. He proposed a new, simpler and cheaper method of measuring photoluminescence, that is, the spontaneous radiation of bodies induced by electromagnetic radiation.
