Cody Fire Near Tucson Now 83% Contained; Most Evacuation Orders Downgraded
PHOENIX — Containment on the Cody Fire, burning southeast of Oracle, has grown to 83% as of Monday morning, with evacuation orders eased for much of the community north of Tucson, according to fire officials. The fire, which ignited around 3:30 p.m. on May 21, has burned 1,223 acres, but no new growth was reported overnight. Fire crews increased from 503 personnel on Sunday to 573 on Monday. Source
