Most of Slovenia has been in the grip of heat since June 23, and the first heat wave of this summer is likely to last for 12 days. Due to high air temperatures, lakes and the sea have also warmed up significantly.
Although storms are possible as early as Tuesday night, no real cooling is expected until the end of the week. Thursday will be the hottest day of the week, followed by cooling and precipitation.

"It will be hot until the end of the week, then the heat will subside a bit. We can expect some showers and storms tonight, when a minor weather disturbance will reach us," says Blaž Šter, a meteorologist at the Environment Agency. The hottest day this week will be Thursday or Friday, when temperatures will exceed 35 degrees Celsius. A slightly more varied weather event awaits us next week.
