Waterloo Region explores idea of pulling surplus water from local township

Kitchener, Ont. – The Regional Municipality of Waterloo is looking to tap into Wilmot Township’s wells and surplus water as a short-term solution to address its supply shortage in the Mannheim Service Area. The region would need to approve the temporary suspension of an almost 50-year-old policy to access the water which would be taken from a series of wells and groundwater sources. CityNews report
