Washington Governor Signs $77.9 Billion Operating Budget

Recently, Washington Governor Bob Ferguson signed a $77.9 billion state operating budget for 2025-2027. Compared with the current two-year budget, the new budget will increase Washington's spending by more than 8%, or about $6 billion, in the next two years, and increase taxes by $4.3 billion in the next two years, a total of about $9 billion in taxes in four years, to deal with the existing $16 billion fiscal deficit.
