5 Days After Myles Garrett Trade to Rams, Browns CB Denzel Ward Reveals Stance on Playing in Cleveland
Ward says he still wants to be in Cleveland and the Browns are not shopping him after trading Myles Garrett for Jared Verse and picks.
Following the Cleveland Browns' trade of defensive end Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams on Monday, cornerback Denzel Ward said Saturday he wants to remain with the team.
The Browns sent Garrett, a two-time Defensive Player of the Year, to Los Angeles in exchange for edge rusher Jared Verse and multiple future draft picks.
General Manager Andrew Berry stated Tuesday that the team has no intention of trading Ward, emphasizing he remains "a big part of the team" and "still playing at a really high level."
With Garrett's departure, Ward has become the longest-tenured player on the Browns' roster, maintaining his commitment to the organization despite his former teammate's exit.
Referencing his former partnership with Garrett as a "Shaq and Kobe" dynamic, Ward intends to build chemistry with Verse while focusing on bringing wins to Cleveland.
