Wakefield Community Schools held a special meeting Thursday afternoon to vote on the separation agreement for WCS Superintendent Matt Farup, effectively ending his employment at the district.

Wakefield School Board signs separation agreement with superintendent

In a meeting that lasted less than 10 minutes, the Wakefield Community Schools' Board of Education approved a separation agreement with Superintendent Matt Farup. Under the agreement, Farup's separation becomes effective June 30, 2026 and he will receive full compensation up to that time. In addition, the district will pay Farup a sum of $155,000.
