Volkswagen adapts its German production: In Wolfsburg, special layers for burners, Emden and Zwickau are to build more electric cars.
The German manufacturer is adjusting production, because the change in customer demand has occurred faster than expected and is cancelling planned extra shifts at its Wolfsburg factory.
Volkswagen will reduce the production of thermal cars in its historic Wolfsburg plant, while demand for electric models is growing in Europe. In parallel, the group plans to increase the volumes of several electric models.
Shifts are being cut in Wolfsburg, while production of electric models is being increased in Emden and Zwickau.
