Voters OK school budgets around the region
Area school district voters approved 2025-2026 operating budgets by wide margins in voting Tuesday. Riverhead voters approved a $211.4 million budget by a vote of 1,004 to 793. A proposition to spend $2.93 million in capital reserve funds to improve the kitchens at Riley Avenue and Phillips Avenue elementary schools also passed, 1,188 to 590.
