European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen issued a stark warning to China on Tuesday: indirect support for Russia and unbalanced trade practices are endangering security, competitiveness and EU-China relations and must stop. The warning comes ahead of a major China-EU summit on July 24-25. Beijing reportedly warned the EU last week that it would not allow Russia to be defeated in Ukraine.
The European Commission leader asked Beijing to respect international trade rules and to distance itself from Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
