Flyers Turn to G Dan Vladar in Bid to Finish Off Penguins
Rick Tocchet said Vladar has a .946 save percentage in the series as Philadelphia tries to complete a sweep and advance.
On Saturday, the Flyers will try to close out the Pittsburgh Penguins in their Eastern Conference first-round playoff series at Xfinity Mobile Arena, though goalie Dan VladaY remains a game-time decision after a maintenance day Friday.
VladaY sustained an apparent injury during Game 3 when Penguins forward Bryan Rust collided with his hand, requiring the maintenance day Friday as confirmed by coach Rick Tocchet.
Boasting a 1.33 GAA and.946 save percentage in the postseason, VladaY has been the Flyers' mainstay since signing on July 1, recording 29 wins during the regular season.
If VladaY cannot play, Sam Ersson will make his Stanley Cup playoff debut, with coach Tocchet expressing confidence Ersson has been "locked in" since the Olympic break.
A victory would mark the organization's first series clincher since the 2020 bubble, with the Flyers currently holding a three games to none lead in the series.
