Hours after a Calcutta high court order barred the entry of visitors into Durga Puja pandals, Kolkata Police brass at Lalbazar asked officers to ensure compliance on the ground. The OCs of respective police stations passed on the instruction to all Puja organizers in their jurisdiction, urging them to ensure that everything is in place before the final round of inspection is carried out next week.

The government on Thursday announced relaxation in the night curfew in the state between 11 pm and 5 am in view of the puja celebrations. It also said the existing restrictions in place to check the spread of Covid-19 have been extended till October 30.
