Virgin Australia to trial SAF flights from Queensland
Virgin Australia has partnered with Australian energy company Viva Australia to explore sourcing Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) for selected flights out of Proserpine Airport (PPP) in Queensland between March to July 2025. Virgin Australia tour aims to encourage girls into aviation careers
Female Year 7 and 8 students from the South East Queensland region will be shown around Virgin’s HQ, maintenance hangar, and training centre including flight simulators. Dubbed the Future Aviators Program, the inaugural event was planned for 7 March but was pushed back due to Cyclone Alfred.
