Mentor Public Library is hosting a program where children can learn about the Perseid meteor shower. The Perseid Party will be 6:30 p.m. Aug. 12, at Mentor Public Library’s Main Branch, 8215 Mentor Ave. Children ages 7 to 12 can learn about the most plentiful meteor shower of the year through games, snacks and crafts, according to a news release. The Perseid meteor shower is on display through Sept. 1 in the Northern Hemisphere, with its peak expected to hit Aug. 12-13.
