Victims' advocate accused of defrauding victims

Gloria Maldonado allegedly took $6,400 meant for legal help including U-Visa applications from victims she was appointed to assist, facing two felony charges.

SILER CITY — A woman who worked with the Siler City Police Department as an advocate for domestic violence victims has been arrested and accused of taking advantage of those victims instead, the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation said.
