Boy, 16, killed in South Shore drive-by
A drive-by shooting in the South Shore neighborhood left a 16-year-old boy dead Tuesday morning. The boy was in the 7800 block of South Coles Avenue when someone in a passing white vehicle with several people inside it opened fire, hitting him about 9:15 a.m., police said. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said. No arrests have been made. Area 2 detectives are investigating.
