Victim identified in Sunday’s shooting in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD — The victim in a Home Street gun slaying on Sunday has been identified as a 27-year-old Springfield man, the Hampden District Attorney’s Office announced Friday.On Sunday at about 10:40 p.m., police found Shain West suffering from gunshots inside an apartment in the Liberty Heights neighborhood of the city. He was taken to Baystate Medical Center, where died from his injuries.
