After a three-year trial period, Venice plans to take drastic steps against the ongoing mass tourism: From 2027, the access fee for daily guests on particularly popular days could rise to up to 30 euros. In addition, there is an extension of the control days as well as an increase of the local tax for overnight guests in the room.
The access fee in Venice is expected to rise to around 30 euros in order to better control visitor flows and reduce mass tourism.
