- Correia's 36-year-old brother, Javier, was among those killed on June 24; since then, Correia has accepted donations at his barbershop in St Helier, channeling his grief into relief efforts.
- Alongside clothing sales that raised thousands, Correia launched an online fundraiser netting $5,000, approximately £4,400, within a week; total raised reached £13,000 for food and supplies.
- More than two tonnes of supplies have been delivered from Jersey via DFDS, which waived shipping fees, while Jersey Overseas Aid committed £250,000 in humanitarian aid; Correia described the support as "amazing."
- Despite these efforts, Correia said that things in Venezuela are "not getting better" as the country struggles to recover, while he continues fundraising with the "very large" Venezuelan community on the Island.
