Russia and Venezuela launched the first stage of the Kalashnikov assault rifle ammunition production plant. The facility, which is located in the city of Maracay (Aragua), began construction 19 years ago. The plant is designed to produce 7.62×39 mm cartridges, used by the Kalashnikov AK-103 assault rifles, which are part of the Venezuelan Armed Forces arsenal.
