Judge David Simpkin credited an early guilty plea and ordered forensic psychiatric reporting as part of a two-year probation term.

A repeat offender who pleaded guilty to fleeing from police and possessing stolen property under $5,000 will not serve more jail time. In an Aug. 4 decision at Provincial Court in Vanderhoof, Judge David Simpkin agreed with Nathan Mark Dejonghe’s defence lawyer, Liam Cooper, that the 39-year-old man should be sentenced to 210 days’ time served for the crimes.
