- Nurse suffered the injury in November during Vancouver's home opener and has spent eight weeks rehabbing, skating throughout and working with pucks in recent weeks.
- Teammates said Nurse, praising her skill, hockey IQ, and the '200-foot game' she provides, which helped Canada win gold at Beijing 2022.
- Whether Nurse will play again before joining Team Canada remains to be seen, while Vancouver Goldeneyes have four games before the Olympic break starting Saturday against Toronto Sceptres.
- With about three weeks before the Games, Team Canada opens at Milano Cortina on Feb. 5 against Finland, which features Goldeneyes forward Michelle Karvinen.
