USDA issues health alert for boneless chicken breast product sold at Kroger and Fred Meyer stores
FSIS said the mislabeled chicken contains eggs and was sold in 9 states, but no recall was issued because it is no longer available.
The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service issued a public health alert for "PRIVATE SELECTION Honey Dijon Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts with Rib Meat" due to undeclared eggs, a known allergen not listed on the product label.
Produced on June 2, 2026, affected items carry establishment number "P-45288B," lot code "15326A," and "BEST IF USED BY: JUN 28 2026" after a retailer discovered incorrect ingredient labels applied to the packaging back.
Distribution included Kroger and Fred Meyer retail locations in Alabama, Alaska, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Oregon, and Washington, though no recall was issued because the product is no longer available for purchase.
Consumers possessing these products should not consume them and may still have items in home refrigerators or freezers; FSIS advises discarding or returning them to the place of purchase.
No adverse reactions have been confirmed, though concerned individuals should contact a health care provider; for questions about the alert, consumers can contact FW Farms LLC Customer Service.
