US targets Iran-backed Hezbollah with new sanctions, Treasury Departments says
The U.S. Treasury Department sanctioned two senior Hezbollah officials, Mu'in Daqiq Al-'Amili and Jihad Alami, for their roles in financial coordination with the group.
Al-'Amili was involved in delivering cash from Iran to Hezbollah officials in Lebanon and coordinated the delivery of at least $50,000 to Alami for Gaza.
Treasury's Faulkender stated that the U.S. continues to apply economic pressure on individuals in the Iranian regime supporting terrorism.
