US spaceflight company considering Australia for space slingshot to catapult rockets into orbit

Summary by Ground News
Spaceflight company Spinlaunch is conducting a feasibility study to determine if two areas of crown land off the Eyre Highway could be used as a launch site. The company uses kinetic energy to catapult projectiles into the upper atmosphere before rockets push them into orbit. The launch system stands more than 50 metres tall and can reach speeds of 8,000km per hour. ANU astrophysicist Brad Tucker says Australia is a burgeoning market for space companies.
