U.S. Ambassador Hoekstra set to speak at Edmonton conference on regional partnerships
The U.S. Ambassador to Canada, Pete Hoekstra, is scheduled to speak today at a regional economic conference in Edmonton about regional partnerships supporting cross-border relationships.
The Pacific Northwest Economic Region was founded in 1991 by five U.S. states, three western Canadian provinces, the Yukon, and the Northwest Territories to promote collaboration across borders.
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith will give a keynote speech focusing on energy, trade opportunities, and regional benefits.
Conference discussions will also cover forest management, artificial intelligence, agriculture, and tourism.
