Upper Darby firefighters make quick work of house fire

Upper Darby firefighters were sent to a building fire on Tuesday shortly before noon in the 700 block of Garrett Road. The call came in just before noon for a fire against the building in the rear. Police arrived and reported heavy smoke. Fire crews arrived to finding a working fire in the rear of a row of businesses that have apartments on the second floors, bringing a full complement of crews to assist.
