2026 Land Rover Defender Updated; Gets New Vertex Trim, Accessory Kit And 6-Seat Layout Option
The update adds a more urban-focused trim, a six-seat Defender 110 and engine changes to meet stricter emissions rules.
- Land Rover introduced the Defender Vertex, a new trim positioned alongside the X grade, featuring rugged bumpers, a larger grille, and 22-inch wheels for the six-year-old SUV.
- JLR overhauled the engine line-up, adding the P380 mild hybrid while updating the BMW-supplied unit for the Octa to deliver 533 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque.
- Aside from the new trim, the Defender 110 gained a six-seat configuration with three rows of two seats; captain's chairs in the second row offer thicker bolstering and can be reclined.
- Pricing for the Defender Vertex starts from £92,635 for the 90, £97,125 for the 110, and £104,440 for the 130, with interiors available in Windsor Leather or Forged textiles.
- Inspired by the coastal Namib desert in Southern Africa, the new Namib Orange hue highlights the revised color palette, which now includes 15 options across the entire range.

Land Rover has unveiled the updated 2026 Defender range with a host of upgrades, including a new urban-focused Vertex variant, refreshed styling elements, additional colour options, a new AI-powered voice assistant, and a six-seat configuration for the Defender 110.
The line has been added to the new Vertex set, with additional interior versions, a new engine, and an expanded list of equipment, but the most powerful version of Octa has become less productive.
