University of North Texas Launches College of AI and Advanced Analytics Following $20M Donation

The gift will fund six permanent endowments for scholarships, faculty, leadership and research as UNT expands its AI and analytics programs.

  • The University of North Texas announced a $20 million gift from Anuradha and Vikas Sinha to establish the Anuradha and Vikas Sinha College of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Analytics.
  • Vikas Sinha, a 2023 UNT doctoral graduate, said the gift is about "paying that opportunity forward," recognizing that immigrants help build the American dream after the couple immigrated from India.
  • Structurally, the Sinha College will feature two academic divisions—Applied Intelligence and Informatics, and Information and Learning Applications—and house the Applied Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Institute.
  • UNT President Harrison Keller said the college aligns with "Look North: UNT 2030" strategic initiative, with six permanent endowments supporting scholarships, professorships, and advanced research.
  • Building on their 2024 and 2025 gifts establishing the Department of Data Science and the Sinha Innovation Lab for Data Science, UNT plans a campus celebration honoring the new college later this year.
