- Covering four districts across Odisha and Jharkhand, the projects will expand the existing Indian Railways network by about 145 kms, aiming to streamline operations and alleviate congestion.
- The multi-tracking project will enhance connectivity to approximately 1,526 villages with a population of about 14 lakhs while improving rail access to Lalitgiri Buddhist Complex, Shree Baladevjew Temple, and Meghahatuburu Hills.
- Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated the projects are essential for transporting commodities, with capacity augmentation resulting in additional freight traffic of magnitude 44 MTPA.
- These projects align with the PM-Gati Shakti National Master Plan, utilizing integrated planning and stakeholder consultations to enhance multi-modal connectivity and logistic efficiency across the network.
