Economic losses and job risks are mounting in the Democratic Republic of Congo as Ebola spreads in Ituri province in the east of the country, while the IMF disburses $348 million in budget support.
Damien Mama, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Permanent Representative in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), stated that the Ebola outbreak would push approximately one million more people into poverty in a country like the DRC, where six out of ten people already live below the poverty line.
