The UN coordinator in Cuba warned on Thursday about the humanitarian crisis that is "aggravating day by day" due to restrictions on oil exports to the communist island, which affect vital sectors of the country.
The United Nations High Commissioner expressed his concern about the vulnerability that remains of the critical sectors of Cuban society, this when he denounced the humanitarian impact of Trump's policies against Cuba before the Human Rights Council.
"Instead of offering a credible path to political reform, the tightening of the U.S. embargo on Cuba through an oil blockade, tariffs or restrictions on oil imports is aggravating the humanitarian crisis and deepening the suffering of the civilian population," says the letter sent by religious and human rights entities.
