Ukrainian drones hit warehouse of Russian online retailer Ozon in overnight strikes
On Saturday, Ukrainian drones struck the Ozon logistics hub in Chapaevsk and the Novokuybyshevsk refinery in Russia's Samara region, causing fires and halting operations at the warehouse complex.
The PJSC Rosneft-owned Novokuybyshevsk refinery produces jet fuel for Russian forces with a design capacity of approximately 8.8 million tonnes annually, making it a high-value military logistics target.
Samara Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev reported several people wounded in the strikes, with at least six civilians killed overnight, while Ozon confirmed via Telegram that operations at its Chapayevsk facility had been halted.
Russia's Defence Ministry reported downing 457 Ukrainian drones overnight as coordinated strikes hit multiple regions, with officials in Belgorod, Krasnodar, Bryansk and Luhansk confirming additional civilian casualties and fires.
This strike on Ozon marks the first attack on the retailer following weeks of drone operations targeting its larger rival Wildberries, which Ukraine has cast as part of a wider campaign against economic infrastructure.
Ozon said in a statement that its logistics center in the city of Shapayevsk, Samara region, was suspended after the strike, adding that there were no casualties.
